Anne is the head of the BBC Writersroom, which finds and develops new writers (and some directors), and champions them across television, radio and on-line. The Writersroom also supports established writers, and helps specific shows to find new talent. Anne works closely with BBC Commissioning in Drama, Comedy and Children’s programmes, and with programme makers, including in-house, BBC Studios and Indies.

Before joining the Writersroom Anne produced and developed an extensive body of work, including drama for BBC Radio and BBC World Service, where she developed and launched the highly successful twice-weekly soap Westway.

Anne also has significant experience within Television, where she has worked in Drama Production on Series & Serials (Silent Witness, Babyfather 2) and for the Continuing Drama Series where she has worked in a variety of roles across EastEnders, Casualty and, more recently, Holby City.

Anne joined the BBC from Community theatre where she worked as an actor, writer and director.
