Lin Coghlan is from Dublin.  She has written widely for the theatre, including  Apache Tears (Clean Break) winner of the Peggy Ramsey Award, Kingfisher Blue (Bush Theatre) and The Miracle (National Theatre).

Her work for the screen includes First Communion Day (BBC Films) Winner of the Dennis Potter Play of the Year Award, Electric Frank (BBC Films) winner of the Leopard of Tomorrow at the Locarno Film Festival, and Some Dogs Bite (BBC) winner of the Prix du Public at the Nantes Film Festival and Best Single Drama at Kidscreen New York. She has written for numerous British and Irish television series, and created an original 13 part series for the BBC – Patrick’s Planet.

For two years she worked as lead writer on Lionhead Studios/Microsoft’s Project Milo for XBOX360, creating, storylining and writing a character-driven gaming experience to complement the emerging and ground breaking ‘Kinect’ technology.

Alongside her screenwriting Lin has written original plays for radio and adapted many classics for BBC Radio 4.
