Michael runs his own business, MCG Film and Media, and has written reports and worked on strategy with bodies around Europe, including Cine Regio, BAFTA, Power to the Pixel, Swedish Film Institute, Rotterdam international film festival, Europa Cinemas, Europa Distribution, Olsberg SPI and the UK Film Council.
Recent reports include ‘Digital Revolution: The Active Audience’ for Cine Regio, which has been widely translated and ‘Film On Television’ for the UK Film Council.
He is former editor of leading film trade ‘Screen International’ (2004-2009) and Director Of Content for ‘Music Week’.
He has chaired and given keynote speeches at more than 70 festivals and events; recent engagements include chairing the European Audiovisual Observatory’s conference at Cannes, the EU Competencies in Culture conference in Warsaw and the annual meetings of Europa Cinemas and Europa Distribution.
He consults for a number of film companies and industry bodies around Europe and is a member of advisory board of Power To The Pixel and the Met Film School.
