Piers Ashworth is best known in the UK for Burke & Hare and St Trinian’s 1 & 2. The third St Trinian’s film is currently in production as is Piers’ film adaptation of Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit – directed by Sir Trevor Nunn.
He also works in the United States where, among many studio projects, he wrote the Goal! movies and the first draft of Mission Impossible. Along with producing partner Donald Kushner he founded Blu-Sky Media in Los Angeles. The company is currently making the Pablo Escobar story Silver or Lead and the film of Erica Jong’s iconic Fear of Flying – both adapted by Piers.
He is currently adapting young adult bestseller Graceling for Reliance Media, The Girl who Fell from the Sky for producer Joe Roth to star Kristen Stewart and No Rest for the Wicked to star Sylvester Stallone.
Piers graduated from Oxford University and became a major music video director before turning his hand to writing.
