Last month twelve LSF delegates converged on Ealing Studios to participate in two exceptional Writers Room events led by leading Showrunners, Barbara Machin (Waking the Dead) and Lucy Raffety (Casualty).
The Writers Room was an initiative developed by the LSF and Barbara and which launched at the LSF in 2016, proving so successful and a genuine game-changer for the participants. So much so that we decided to run these two additional sessions which proved to be equally as game-changing for all involved. Here’s what they had to say about their day long lock in with two of the busiest and BEST Showrunners working the the UK today:
“The Writers Room was everything I hoped it would be – a real eye opener into the workings of a flagship continuing drama. It created a lovely atmosphere where any idea could be put on the table then morphed, stretched, hammered and even thrown out entirely. The work itself was an absolute joy and a real chance to put into practice the various lessons I’ve learned through years of sessions, advice and tutorials from LSF and beyond.
Lucy Raffety was superb to work with/for, so very open, enthusiastic and receptive. It was absolutely invaluable to our careers to be able to have access to someone of that caliber and level in the industry willing to answer our questions”.
