Deconstructing 50 Kisses: What can we all learn? image

50 Kisses, the main LSF competition this year, saw nearly 2000 script submissions and hundreds of films produced.

This created an enormous and open laboratory for emerging screenwriters (check out the site, feedback and comments and read scripts on the site here www.50kissesfilm.com).

If we did it again, we would do it very differently. So what did we learn that you should know? Stuff that would improve your chances the next time you submit a script, not just to a competition, but to a commissioner, TV company or producer?

There were some dramatic and surprising trends that ensured huge amounts of talented writers missed the top spots – what did they get wrong that you can learn from?
