A session introducing Dylan. Its a hundred years this weekend that Dylan Thomas was born and to mark the centenary we welcome Griff Rhys Jones (“Insufficiently Welsh”) with Owen Teale from Game of Thrones and others to mark his associations with the very area we are in – Fitzrovia. He lodged just across the Euston Road in Conway Street and before that in Fitzroy Street and he lived and caroused, wrote and socialised in the pubs and clubs of Fitzrovia when they were the busiest writers salon in Europe and home from home to Graeme Greene, George Orwell, Julain McClaren Ross and all the bohemian artists and models of the thirties and forties. Its a celebration of the verse and the place to mark the beginning of the Dylan in Fitzrovia Festival that will continue across the whole weekend in the streets of the district.
