- The Advanced Mentoring Labs Applications Close 13th Aug
Getting your first production credit is often the biggest hurdle to overcome. One smart way to achieve this is to write AND produce your own short film in this Lab, run by prolific producer Stephen Follows.
Stephen’s writing has been promoted by an eclectic group of people, including industry names (Mike Newell, Stephen Fry, Alison Mack), and in the press (Daily Telegraph, Le Monde, The Guardian). His writing has won the Virgin Media Shorts prize, been nominated for a British Independent Film Award and long-listed for a BAFTA.
In this Lab, Stephen will arm you with everything you need to begin this journey as well as lead directly to that all important first credit and career changing production experience.
To be considered, you should have a ten page or less short script that you are committed to getting made now.
The six selected writers for this lab will undergo an intense process over the LSF weekend, developing the project to the point where it has a clear roadmap to production. If you are selected you will also be expected to read ALL six projects in this lab, as will Stephen, and contribute to the process.
There will also be an online ‘meet-up’ before AND after the festival so that we can begin work prior to the lab and continue it beyond the LSF. We want the group to bond and offer a continued support network, something that will be vital to the success of the lab.
OK to be considered you will need to submit:
- A synopsis for for your film.
- The full screenplay as a PDF.
- Supporting statement about you and the project, giving context
- A writing CV (not sure what goes here? Check out this post HERE)
