- The Advanced Mentoring Labs Applications Open 28th July
- The Advanced Mentoring Labs Applications Close 13th Aug
Yes, John ran the show at both CH4 and BBC Drama and his CV is ridiculous. If you want to write TV, you can’t get much more qualified than John.
The six selected writers for this lab will undergo an intense process over the LSF weekend, developing the project to the point where it can be presented to commissioners. If you are selected you will also be expected to read ALL six projects in this lab, as will John, and also to contribute to the process.
There will also be an online ‘meet-up’ before AND after the festival so that we can begin work prior to the lab and continue it beyond the LSF. We want the group to bond and offer a continued support network, something that will be vital to the success of the lab.
You will be asked to supply
- A logline
- A 1 page synopsis
- 3 pages ONLY (from anywhere in the script)
- Supporting statement about you and the project, giving context

Do you love television? Do you have the next returning hit TV drama series in your portfolio? Then we want to hear from you.
Successful applicants will join Scott at the Festival for this intensive lab and through workshopping take their writing to the next level.
