Led by veteran screenwriting teacher Bob Schulz, the lab centers on commercial screenwriting: movies and television series built for broad audience appeal.
The session blends the best of a small writers’ room with personalized mentorship. Participants form a temporary but cohesive writers group, learning from one another’s questions, challenges, and breakthroughs, while still receiving targeted, practical guidance on their own projects.
Writers will workshop material in progress,features, TV pilots, shorts, with an emphasis on:
Crafting concepts that connect with large audiences
Strengthening story engines, characters, and structure
Understanding the commercial marketplace for film and television
Clarifying personal creative goals and next career steps
With only six writers in the room, each participant gets meaningful one-on-one attention as well as group feedback that sharpens perspective and sparks new ideas.
