Emily Monaghan is a screenwriter and director from the New York City area in the United States. Monaghan has written and directed several short films, including Changing Tune (2024) and Le Fleur (2023), the former having been produced under the SAG-AFTRA Micro-Budget Project Agreement. Monaghan has also served on the Production Design team for two student films, Reflections of Us (2025, in post-production, Art Director) and On the Line (2024, Production Designer and SFX Artist). She has also worked on several sets as a Production Assistant.
Monaghan also works in television alongside film, acting as a key member of the student-produced mockumentary series NEW KID as a Production Designer and Writer’s Apprentice for the first three episodes, as well as the Director and Producer of Episode 4: SPRINGBREAKDOWN (2025, in post-production). She has also written several scripts, including a Spec for The Bear Season 3, short screenplays, and is currently developing several feature-length scripts.
