Your Truth, Your Perspective, YOUR Story! Leveraging The Authentic And Honest To Break Through with Kayleigh Jones and Francesca Martinez

Courage, honesty, heart, humour and tears. It's what stories are all about. When we share our truth from this place, audiences are moved, inspired and entertained. And THAT is gold.

Date: Sunday, April 12th
Time: 15:30 to 16:20

Room: Tuke Hall
Filmed: YES

Join Kayleigh Jones and Francesca Martinez for a dynamic, no-holds-barred conversation about turning personal experience into powerful, award-winning work.

Fresh from the goodbye tour of ‘I Fed My Dad to a Pelican’, Kayleigh will share how learning the craft of writing transformed her show  from raw life events into a tightly structured, emotionally satisfying hour. She’ll talk about writing from lived experience, the risks and rewards of putting your real story on stage, and where the original idea for her debut came from.

Francesca will discuss the creation of her award-winning show ‘All Of Us’, a powerful, politically charged and deeply personal piece that explores disability, identity and belonging. She’ll share insights into developing the show’s voice – how do you actually mix of activism with humour?

Together, Kayleigh and Francesca will reflect on authorship, ownership of story, resilience, and the fun that comes with telling the truth on stage.

NOTE: This session is followed by a LIVE performance of the show Kayleigh wrote, produced and stars in, ‘I Fed My Dad to a Pelican.’ DO NOT MISS IT!
