Jessica Cogan is a London-based emerging creative with a BA in Film from King’s College London, combining a sharp instinct for story with hands-on experience in script editing, digital marketing, and production. As Head of Media for TEDxKing’s College London, she managed a full media team, edited speaker scripts, handled all social content and graphic design, and produced live-streamed events, developing the kind of cross-discipline range that the fast-moving world of vertical content demands.
Jessica brings both on-set experience and critical insight to the development process. She began as a Production Assistant on music videos for Sony and RCA, later progressing to 1st AD on fashion shorts, giving her a practical understanding of how concepts translate from script to screen under real production constraints. Alongside this, she runs Browser Baby, a Substack examining the intersection of film and new media, with a focus on how scripted content reflects and shapes digital culture — from the politicisation of online spaces to shifts in audience behaviour and discourse.
With a particular eye for dynamic writing, and experience in pre-production and on-set management, Jessica brings both creative and operational skills to the table. She understands the digital landscape from the inside, and is actively developing her practice at the intersection of short-form storytelling and audience-first content strategy.
She joins the new microdrama studio and streaming platform operating under North 7 Media as the company prepares to launch its slate of original series in 9:16 portrait format, targeting European and North American audiences across iOS, Android, and social platforms.
Looking for: Verticals/Microdramas, with a focus on the successful genres in that space. Short-form serialised drama for mobile-first audiences. We’re focused on the genres driving the format’s growth: romance, adventure, and melodrama. We focus exclusively on high-energy stories built around cliffhangers and binge momentum.
