Lisa McMullin is an award-winning writer whose credits include “Death in Paradise,” “The Sister Boniface Mysteries,” and Jimmy McGovern’s “Moving On.”
She was part of the RTS and BAFTA Award-winning writing team on “Casualty” (2023) and has written for “EastEnders” and “Doctors.”
Her latest project is the feature film “Hear Me Roar,” co-written with Ashley Bayston, starring Emma Thompson, Anna Friel, and Christopher Eccleston. The film tells the story of a transgender woman who challenged the British government in 2000 in a landmark legal case that transformed LGBTQ+ rights in the UK.
McMullin has multiple projects in development with HTM Television and Hat Trick Productions, including a pilot for Showtime. Her work in audio drama includes the Doctor Who story “Wink,” voted best audio by Doctor Who Magazine in 2023. She began her career in theater, writing plays including “Siren Song,” “Priceless,” and “Rapture.”
