Be it in Paris, LA, London or Glasgow, Maureen feels most at home in a film studio, at the heart of a thriving filmmaking community. Be it in training, producing / directing, or activism, what Maureen enjoys above all else is gathering the right group of people to create a positive transformation.
Scotland lit up the entrepreneurial spark in Maureen, who curated TEDx Cumbernauld Women for 3 years, made two short films in the 18 months: WWII short ‘The Elementals’, and ‘Fever’, a short film about mental health in Scottish prison commissioned by SISCO. Maureen also has a passion for setting up the right environment for the screen industry to flourish in Scotland – starting initiatives that hold space for industry-lead conversations like the Scottish Screenwriters Festival and the Scottish Producers Circle.
The movie that made her want to become a filmmaker is Kevin Costner’s ‘Dances with Wolves’.
