Every year there is a moment when a script shows up in the office and we all get SUPER excited.
Last year it was Jaws, this year it’s the Ridley Scott draft of ‘Johnny Utah’ that was rebooted four years after Scotts departure as ‘Point Break’. As soon as it was out of the FedEx sleeve, Bob was reading with GREAT glee!
To be clear, this is the very script that was printed from Peter Ilifs (what looks like an Amstrad PCW) Word Processor in 1987.
It’s a genuine movie artefact and deeply exciting to hold.
We are scanning it right now and it will be ready for download later today in the network for delegates, alongside the Cameron / Bigelow polish draft.
I cannot wait for the Script to Screen at the festival for Point Break – I rewatched last week in wonderous HD and it still rocks along and would kick the ass of most modern action movies (not to mention the failed reboot / remake).
So… come to the festival and read this script and watch the movie with screenwriter Peter Ilif as we record and unofficial chat track for the movie.
It will be a 100% pure adrenaline rush…!
