Simon van der Borgh is a veteran screenwriter, educator, and script consultant with a 30-year career spanning multiple continents.
His screenwriting success includes selling spec scripts in major film markets worldwide, with his work on “In Tranzit” (2008) attracting acclaimed actors John Malkovich and Vera Farmiga. His script consulting portfolio includes influential films such as “Kidulthood” (2006), “Drift” (2013), and “These Final Hours” (2013).
A significant collaboration with director Peter Medak resulted in “The Ghost of Peter Sellers,” a documentary exploring the troubled production of the 1974 film “Ghost in the Noonday Sun,” which premiered at the 2018 Venice Film Festival. Simon recently published “Scene-writing for Film and TV” (Focal Press/Routledge, 2024), drawing from his extensive experience teaching screenwriting at the University of York (2012-24) and conducting masterclasses worldwide.
