Evan is the owner of London-based Industrial Scripts, and previously was one of the leading script consultants working in the UK, assessing material for a wide range of established industry production companies, funding bodies and American studios, including: Dan Films, TalkbackThames, Intermedia, Mirage Enterprises, Working Title, CinemaNX, BBC Films, Pathe, Screen South, Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures, See-Saw Films, Optimum Releasing, Universal and Scott Free. In total, Evan assessed over 3,000 projects during an 8 year period for the UK’s leading film companies and studios.
In addition, for 3 years Evan was Development Co-ordinator at Ealing Studios, reporting to Head of Development Sophie Meyer. During his tenure, the studio produced films including St. Trinian’s, Easy Virtue, Dorian Gray, St. Trinian’s II and Burke & Hare. In 2008, Evan was credited script editor on the first feature financed exclusively out of Dubai (the $7m City Of Life) and he was also an analyst for Peep Show creator Andrew O’Connor, examining at length the screenwriting theories of Save the Cat! author Blake Snyder.
In early 2010 he established Industrial Scripts to offer writers and filmmakers premium, industry-trusted script development, training and promotion services, successfully brokering sponsorship deals with Paramount Pictures and talent agency Curtis Brown.
Evan currently overseas all aspects of Industrial Scripts’ activity, and through his production company Takedown Pictures is producing The Grudge with The King’s Speech producers Gareth Unwin and Simon Egan of Bedlam Productions.
