James Strong is a leading UK director who has worked on high-end British television drama including classics such as Downton Abbey, Dr Who and Silent Witness. His single films including The Best Possible Taste and the forthcoming Great Train Robbery starring Jim Broadbent.

James was recently lead director and associate producer on ITV’s massive hit Broadchurch, working closely with writer Chris Chibnall and directing 5 of the 8 episodes.

His first feature was United, the story of the tragic Munich Air Disaster which decimated the Manchester United team in 1958, and featured rising star Jack O’Connell as well as David Tennant and Dougray Scott and was RTS nominated for Best Film.

In 2008 he won Best Director at the BAFTA Cymru Awards for Dr Who ‘Voyage of the Damned’. He is currently working on a 3 part drama for Kudos From There To Here, written by Peter Bowker, alongside developing his second feature The Last Goodbye.
