The countdown is on! With less than fifty days until the annual London Screenwriters’ Festival, everyone working behind the scenes gathered both in-person and online for a very insightful production team meeting.
Ironing out all the details that will allow our delegates, speakers and volunteers to have the best possible weekend in April, this twelve-person meeting covered everything from how long we’d let the meeting run, to current, next and last steps for everyone over the next few weeks.
With half of the team crammed into the office and the other half confined to a small iPad screen, we talked about app updates, PitchFest, technological logistics for speakers and sessions, and how the dedicated volunteers can help us run the show. Still new to the team, I met a lot of new faces both in-person and online that will play a big role in contributing to the festival in the weeks to come, and I’m excited to work with each of them.
While this production meeting may have been slightly unconventional, with not everyone in the same room or gathered around the same table, we still managed to get a lot done. Everyone left this ninety-minute Zoom call with a clear picture of how their skills and contributions were important, and how we can all work together to make this festival the best it can possibly be.
