Ted Wilkes is a genre fiction and feature writer whose screenplay “Fulfilment” is under option at BAFTA-nominated Ardimages UK and in development with Stigma Films.
Described as a ‘genre junkie’ by The Uncertain Kingdom Development Fund, he combines creative work with academic expertise as a lecturer at University for the Creative Arts, specializing in Narrative Design, Twenty-First Century Visual Cultures, and Genre Studies.
His textbook “Character is Structure: The Insider’s Guide to Screenwriting” is published by The BFI and Bloomsbury, with a second academic book forthcoming in 2025. Wilkes served as a judge for the 2023 Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award at the International Emmy® Awards and has presented papers internationally on screenwriting craft and form.
He is known for innovative teaching methods, including the use of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology to create inclusive learning environments.
