Guided by working industry writers, you’ll walk out with a finished, producible short film script that is one part of a feature film project, a trusted cohort of peers, and relationships with professionals actively looking for new talent.

What actually happens?
The cohort of eighteen screenwriters will be split into three rooms of six, each room led by a seasoned professional.
You will get exposure to all three of our showrunners.
Each writers room will develop and write one portmanteau feature-length film, where every story unfolds in and around a single location. and event.
We will end up with three feature scripts set in one main location and revolving around one event.
The Brief: Your room will write a feature film set over one night in a London nightclub. Six short films, making one feature film.
Each writers room begins their story in a separate location with their own character worlds. Think: The bouncer’s story; The VIP Section; The Ladies.
Allow your imagination to go wild, your creativity to flare, but always grounded in the realities of production AND a real world deadline.
With input and support from the room, and the showrunners, each writer creates and writes their own episode, a complete short film that stands alone and slots into the feature as a whole. Collaboration and support are prerequisite.
Why one location? Because single-location shorts are the ones that actually get made. We’re deliberately setting you up to write something with a genuine shot at production.
Your five days in three phases
- Phase One – The Room.
Storylining, beat outlining, breaking story together. This is the real writers’ room experience: pitching, debating, building, killing your darlings, and discovering what you uniquely bring to a room. Caffeine will be required. - Phase Two – The Write.
Script in a day. A first draft in 24 hours – absolutely achievable after three days of intensive development with your writing cohort and showrunner. - Phase Three – The Feedback.
Professional script feedback at 10am from the team and industry guests. Then celebratory drinks with industry guests. You leave with a script, a full set of notes, a network, and a completely new understanding of your own writing. - Throughout: The Craft.
What makes a great short film? Masterclasses and workshops on dialogue, action, stage directions, pitching, and building a killer beat outline – everything you’ll need for the days ahead, straight from professionals who’ll tell you exactly what they look for in a script.
We will invite directors and producers to hear the pitches on day five – a direct line between writers and the filmmakers who could bring your script to life.
