Tom is a British cinematographer whose work spans feature films, television dramas, commercials, music videos, and documentaries.
A graduate of Bournemouth University’s Film and Television BA program, he has built a career that combines technical mastery with artistic sensitivity.
His global experience includes filming in challenging locations from the Dominican Republic to IDP camps in Chad, and from Palestine to Toronto’s film studios. For six years, Tom served as the in-house Director of Photography at the Doha Film Institute in Qatar, a prestigious initiative established by the Qatari government in partnership with Tribeca Productions. This position allowed him to collaborate with acclaimed directors including Ron Fricke (Baraka, Samsara) and Mira Nair (Monsoon Wedding, The Reluctant Fundamentalist).
Since returning to the UK in 2016, he has contributed his distinctive visual style to beloved British television series including Death in Paradise, Silent Witness, Beyond Paradise, Call the Midwife, and Midsomer Murders. His film credits include Eye & Mermaid (2013), City Rats (2009), and Haphazard (2019).
Visual Storytelling through Tom’s lens reflects a unique fusion of international influences and British sensibilities. His work at the Doha Film Institute provided rare exposure to diverse filmmaking traditions, enriching his approach to cinematography with global perspective.
