While his feature documentary Daley, the definitive portrait of Double Olympic champion, Daley Thompson was transmitted on BBC2 to rave reviews and over 2 M viewers in 2024, Jean’s impressive 30 year career spans multiple genres. He is known for directing the multi-BAFTA and RTS award-winning Terry Pratchett Discworld adaptations for Sky, including “The Colour of Magic” (starring Sean Astin, Tim Curry, and Jeremy Irons) and “Hogfather” (Sir David Jason, Michelle Dockery) – the latter remaining Sky1’s highest-rating show of all time.
His recent work includes the TV comedy “Porters” starring Rutger Hauer, and “Henry IX,” which won the Rose D’Or for best sitcom in 2018. Jean also produced “The Man Who Invented Christmas” (2018), starring Dan Stevens and Christopher Plummer.
His extensive portfolio includes directing over 200 award-winning commercials and numerous feature films including “Jiminy Glick in Lalawood,” starring Martin Short and Steve Martin which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. But most of all he won a bronze medal representing England at the 2024 Masters hockey World Cup.
