Want to know how to get your script produced?

Then ask an international sales agent turned screenwriter.

Sam Horley had worked in film sales for over a decade, then chose a career gear shift and became a screenwriter. In the few short years since that shift, she has gained representation with United Agents, has had her first script optioned, her second script (an adaptation) has industry traction, and her third has secured development funding.

Of course Sam is a great writer, but she also knows AND writes the following…

• What producers want.
• What the market will bid over.
• What audiences will PAY to see.
• What gets HER excited too.

This is the essential crossroads. Between personal passion for specific stories, and market driven desire to make money.

And Sam has a roadmap to lead us all to that place. Not everyone wants to go there of course, but if you want to make a living as a screenwriter, I would suggest this is the place to be.

In this one day, hands on and interactive workshop, Sam will help you take your ideas and reposition them so that they are more commercially facing.

What you will learn

• How the Market really functions and what it wants.
• How to reposition your ideas and scripts to get market traction.
• How to think like a producer so you only spend time on projects that have a good chance of getting produced.
• Deep understanding of script tone, style, content and pace, so that it becomes market facing.
• Why authenticity is the bedrock on which you must build your story.

Make no mistake, this is NOT about fast cars, guns and girls in short skirts. Those films are still getting made, but in ever decreasing numbers and with increasing audience ambivalence.

Audiences are now hungrier than ever for fresh, new, original, relevant… But at the same time, familiar. Not cliché, not trope, not seen-it-all-before… Just familiar.

Sam will help you find the ‘familiar’ in your originality. This is the core and essence in your project that will cause producers and financiers to request a meeting.

Expect to get out of your comfort zone too with lots of hands on exercises that will stretch you and your ideas. And only in stretching do we grow.

Join us for a challenging, fun and illuminating day that will platform you as a creator and elevate your work into a more commercially viable version.
