Zoe Hunter Gordon // Director

Zoe is a writer/director. Her work has played at BAFTA & Oscar qualifying festivals, been broadcast on the BBC and commissioned by the BFI, BBC and SDI. She has a practise in both fiction and documentary work, and incorporates documentary research practises into her fiction making. She often collaborates with actors as well as writers at the genesis of projects, as she is interested in using lived experience as a jumping off point into storytelling.

Looking for: She is interested in meeting writers who genuinely enjoy collaboration and see themselves as filmmakers as well as writers: part of a collective.

Zoe looks for complex character work, nuanced storytelling, strong visual sensibilities and comedy in the scripts she reads from the writers she collaborates with.

Right now, she is interested in reading low budget drama feature scripts (open to those with magical realism/horror elements – as long as psychological character work is still there) that are set in the UK/Europe with minimal location requirements. She is also interested in meeting and reading work by writers who have Gypsy/Roma/Traveller heritage and also writers who are from Nigeria/Uganda/Kenya or 1st generation British diaspora, for two specific projects. She is always open to reading passion projects from screenwriters who resonate with work of her own.
